Summary
[edit]DescriptionNew Great Victoria Street railway station (geograph 3395084).jpg |
English: New Great Victoria Street railway station Only Northern Ireland's political masters ever viewed the closure of Great Victoria Street as a good idea. After much pressure, approval was given on 27 January 1993 for a return of rail services to the former site, which was to combine with the Europa bus station. Opening of the new station on 30 September 1995 also saw provision of a rail link from Great Victoria Street to the central line, allowing direct running into Great Victoria Street from both the Bangor and Larne lines. Taken from a car park atop the bus station, this view also shows the Boyne Bridge and the now demolished Murray's Erinmore tobacco factory. |
