English: New sign for Hindley On the western side of the township, on the A58 Liverpool Road. One of the series of new signs being erected on the boundaries of most of the communities which constitute the present-day Metropolitan Borough of Wigan, formed in 1974 by the incorporation of a number of former Urban Districts etc.. This one is rather prosaic - the crest of the old Hindley UDC. |
