| Description |
English: North Pole Eurostar Depot, under construction 1992. View eastward from the A219 Scrubbs Lane (Mitre) bridge, towards Paddington: ex-GWR main line, with its six tracks on the left and beyond them the Overbridge Lines for empty stock. Built on the site of the former West London Carriage Depot, this is the eastern half of the Eurostar Depot, used for heavy maintenance. It is connected under the bridge directly with the western half. Opened in 11/94 for the high-speed Eurostar Class 373 trains to the Waterloo International terminus from Paris and Brussels, it ceased operation when St Pancras International opened in 11/07 as terminus of the High-Speed 1 services in place of Waterloo. However, it is now (2013) being redeveloped for the Intercity Express Programme project. |
