DescriptionNorth Redlands - geograph.org.uk - 1455301.jpg |
English: North Redlands The name of the field according to the 1843 tithe map and formerly part of Ditchling Park, a deer park that dates back to the time of Alfred the Great when he used it as a stud farm, that was disparked in the late 16th century. Prior to the building of the modern day B2112 in 1830 this field would have been joined to South Redlands on the southern side of the road. The field is receiving the first rays of sun of the day whilst Oldlands Mill can be seen in the distance centre right. |
