Summary[edit]

Description
English: North side of St Mary's Church, Colston Bassett. The north aisle and transept were demolished in 1774, presumably because they were unsafe. The north arcade was subsequently filled in to create the external wall. The windows constructed to light the nave are of a fashionable Georgian design based on the style of the contemporary architect James Gibbs. See 613460 for a brief history of the church.
