Near its S.E. exit, towards Ny Carlsberg, is a bronzestatue of the statesman K. Chr. Hall (d. 1888), by W. Bissen. To the S. of the Sandermarken Park lie the suburbs of NyCarlsberg, with Hr. Jacobsens great brewery, and Valby (tramNo. 2, p. 396), where the Romanesque Jesus -Kirke (PI. B, 9),built by Dahlerup at the cost of Hr. Carl Jaoobsen, deserves a visit.The sacristan (Valby Langgade 12) is in the church on week-days,12-4 (25 ».). The interior, lavishly decorated, is borne by 82 gran-ite pillars in two rows, one above the other. The font, with figuresof Faith and Hope, is by Jerichau; the tomb of the Jacobsen familyhas marble groups by Tenerani, after Thorvaldsen; the altar-frieze,Christ surrounded by Apostles, Saints, and Reformers, is by Sin-ding. In front of the church is a large crucifix by Jerichau.
