Anno d[omi]ni. M.CCCCC.xvi. xxvij. die Februarij. Covers paneled in floral roll stamps, the inner panel containing a diapered fillet pattern with lozenges comprised of flower and pineapple tools. Spine ruled in gilt with black leather label and the gilt stamp of the York Minster Library. Title and "165" inscribed on fore-edge. Bookplate of the York Minster Library. Autograph of Tobias Matthew, Archbishop of York (1546-1628) (signed "Tobias Dunelm") at the head of the first leaf. Title inscribed at head of first prologue leaf in Matthew's hand. Early/contemporary marginalia throughout. Purchased from the York Minster Library by A.S.W. Rosenbach in 1930. Purchased by BPL in Oct., 1941.
