Description
English: "Nuevo Mercado, Merida, Yucatan" Mexico; period postcard. This copy mailed 1922; details indicate photo from late Porfiriato era. Shows the second Mercado de Gálvez, inaugurated in May 1909, and demolished in 1948. Described as "new", so likely photographed shortly after its opening.
