  • Significance: The bridge that George Morison designed for Leavenworth represented a synthesis of his pervious thirteen bridges over the Missouri and Mississippi rivers. It combined the swing span configuration of his Mississippi River structures with the caisson-footed piers of his previous Missouri River bridges.
