English: Oaklands. Old Great North Road. This parade of shops lies alongside the old Great North Rd and includes a post office, off licence and florist. The new flats are on the site of an old petrol station. The photograph is taken from the end of Turpins Ride, a road named after Dick who rode past this spot on the famous ride on Black Bess. |
