| Description |
English: Oaks at Pig Bush, New Forest. Pig Bush is a strangely named area of woodland on a heathland slope between the B3056 Lyndhurst-Beaulieu road and Shepton Water. These oaks in the interior appear to be of the same generation and bear some similarities to the oak enclosures found elsewhere in the Forest. The woodland is very open at ground level as a result of browsing by ponies and deer - few saplings or shrubs get the chance to grow to maturity without being eaten! |
