Summary
[edit]DescriptionPaisley - Brownside Braes - Harelaw Reservoir - geograph.org.uk - 369064.jpg |
English: Paisley - Brownside Braes - Harelaw Reservoir Harelaw Reservoir is in this picture. On the left of me is Glenburn Reservoir, but is not shown in the picture. On the right of Harelaw Reservoir is a golf course. At the back of me is a golf course too but is known as Paisley golf course.
I'm standing at a cairn which I believe is 220 metres above sea level and is one of the highest points on the Gleniffer Braes. To get up here you would have to use Braehead road in Glenburn and walk up to Paisley golf course, take the 1 in 10 gradient hill all the way to the Golf course and turn right. It is well signposted to direct you to Glenburn Reservoir. When at Glenburn reservoir you won't miss this hill as it is the highest position in front of you. There is now a walkway opened up in 2006 that takes you as far as Killoch burn in Neilston. This is not an easy Ramble. Be prepared as it is off the beaten track!! I would say it is a very energetic walk and not for people who are not fit. I just thought it would be a good example to show for the spectacular view across Glasgow... I rate it only for experienced hillwalkers due to it being off the beaten track most folk would go.. Picture is from Jan 2002 ,but i was up here about 2 weeks ago March 2007 and it has not changed. |
