THIS STONE IS SET IN HONOUR OF THOSE THOUSANDS FROM MANY LANDS WHO DESCENDED HERE IN THE COURSE OF TRAINING, GIVEN OR RECEIVED, FOR PARACHUTE SERVICE WITH THE ALLIED FORCES IN EVERY THEATRE OF WAR"
