Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Path across the fields. Where the public footpath merges with a private road > 1028283 another path veers off in northwesterly direction. It leads across fields, passing Brake Farm > 1028368 and linking with an unnamed road near Skeyton Corner. This public footpath turns off Swanton Abbott Road as it leads through Swanton Hill. The path runs in northeasterly direction, passing Westwick Hill and Woodcock Hill and Perch Lake and Heath Plantations > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1028241 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1028235 beyond, and the derelict Strawberry Hall > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1027083 before reaching Lord Anson's Wood and a stile > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1028173. Here it emerges into a field which is the site of an ancient battle where Bishop Spencer fought the rebels under John Leicester in 1381. On the other side of the field the path joins a farm track > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1027038 leading to the B1150 (North Walsham Road) near where an old stump cross > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/458419 commemorating said battle has been resited to.
