The 13.45 express Glasgow (Central) to Manchester (Victoria) is blasting away and the firemen of both engines are stoking up for tackling the 10 miles at 1-in-120 up to Shap Summit. LMS 2P 4-4-0 No. 40631 is piloting rebuilt 'Royal Scot' 7P 4-6-0 No. 46105 'Cameron Highlander'. The lines on the left led to Keswick, Cockermouth and Workington. |
