| Description |
English: Pinnacle Hill viewed from the path going around the eastern side of Black Hill. The trees are recovering since the fire of late 1981 which lasted several days, appeared on national TV and required the army to assist. Very dry organic matter beneath the surface was smouldering away and would burst out long after it was thought to be extinguished. Thermal imaging cameras developed at RSRE Malvern for military purposes were put to peacetime use to look for hot spots. |
