Slovenščina: Appendinijevo pošiljko sem sedaj odvil in predal obe zadevi Voltiggiju, ki ju namerava prodati naši knjižnici, item pa izročiti Hormayrju in Sartoriju. Zdaj prosim za račun in odločitev glede izvoda za Dobrovskega (katerega gramatiko bom posredoval Humboldtu, mojstru pa prihodnjič predložil številne dubia). Tudi Srbi in Slovaki se sedaj zbirajo okrog mene in morda bo čez pol leta tukaj nastala prava ilirska tiskarna! Na našo latinsko-slovansko abecedo pa tudi ne bom pozabil. (Samo stanovanje!)
Še vedno hrepeneče pričakujem obljubljeni namig! Z večno spoštljivostjo, Vaše milosti dolžnik, Kopitar l. r. P. S. Vodnik naj bo tako prijazen in mi odgovori! Čestitam Ernestini!Deutsch: Appendini’s Sendung habe nun ausgepakt und die zwey Sachen dem Voltiggi, der sie unsrer Bibliothek verkaufen wird, item an Hormaier et Sartori herausgegeben. Ich bitte nun um die Rechnung und den Entscheid über das Ex. für Dobrowsky (dessen Gramm. ich dem Humboldt tradire, und eine Menge dubia dem Meister nächstens vorlegen werde). Auch die Serbier und die Slowaken sammeln sich nun auch um mich, und vielleicht ist in einem halben Jahre eine eigene Illyrische Druckerey hier! Unser lat.-slavisches Alfabet vergesse ich auch nicht (aber nur ein Quartier!)
