It is said that Pomona valley is the greatest orange-producing dis- trict in the United States, and our party were all very anxious to seethese groves. The Commercial Club, through our genial friend and former neigh-bor, Dr. C. W. Johnson, had planned a most interesting automobile tripfor us on our arrival, which took us through the city and parks of whichthey have six, and then through the famous orange groves. Our tripculminated in a most delightful reception in the home of Dr. and Mrs.C. W. Johnson; their beautiful and spacious home is surrounded by oneof the finest orange groves in southern California, consisting of 200acres. Here we spent a most enjoyable time with our host and hostess,who were assisted by some of the charming ladies from Pomona. It was with regret that we left this garden spot of the coast, buttime was limited, so we were soon speeding to our next place of inter-est which was Los Angeles. (22)
