Description |
English: Porthleven, Cornwall A sketch showing the coastline near Porthleven, Cornwall. It indicates a low viewpoint close to the water's edge. The sea in the foreground on the left shows the waves breaking very close to the viewer with the tops of the waves painted in a thick impasto. The Cornish cliffs are visible in the background on the left and a small sailing dinghy can be seen in the middle distance on the right with one red and one white sail. Following the end of World War I, Everett went to Helston in Cornwall on 28 January 1919. He then moved on to Porthleven before renting a studio at Sennen, which he chose for its good view of the sea, staying there until 11 May 1919. |
