Description
Français : L'oeuvre se compose de deux parties. La première, présente dans la cour intérieure du pavillon Ferdinand-Vandry, est un ensemble de cinq colonnes ayant pour but, de par leur disposition, de créer une place publique. L'auteur s'inspira des alignements de Carnac en Bretagne pour créer cet effet. La deuxième partie de l'oeuvre représente deux arbres, face à face. Le premier est un érable rouge, lequel est, selon l'opinion de l'artiste, l'essence d'arbre le plus représentatif de l'ensemble du territoire québécois. L'autre est un arbre élancé représentant la terre qui monte au ciel et débute un cycle de vie. L'ensemble de l'oeuvre se veut lié à la notion même de la naissance qui est intimement rattachée à l'étude de la science médicale.
