With a good16-inch coil and a 6- or 7-inch high vacuum coil tube, the time shouldbe from thirty seconds to one minute. Fractures of the neck and head of the femur occur more fre-quently in adults and old people, but are sometimes seen in theyouth as well. Fig. 170 is a skiagraph of an intracapsular fracture of the femurin an old lady four months after the injury.
