Description

O vice-presidente do Senado, Jorge Viana (PT-AC), recebe a visita do agraciado com o Prêmio Nobel da Paz de 2014, Kailash Satyarthi, acompanhado do presidente da Comissão de Direitos Humanos do Senado (CDH), senador Paulo Paim (PT-RS). Satyarthi pede apoio do Senado no combate ao trabalho escravo. O ganhador do Nobel da Paz disse ter presenciado um “progresso impressionante” na sociedade brasileira nos últimos 20 anos. “As instituições democráticas são poderosas e efetivas e a democracia tem se aprofundado e fortalecido”, analisou o ativista indiano.

Participam: Indiano Kailash Satyarthi; senador Cristovam Buarque (PDT-DF); senador Paulo Paim (PT-RS); senador Paulo Rocha (PT-PA); senador Jorge Viana (PT-AC); senadora Regina Sousa (PT-PI).
