English: An Afghan national army air corps' AN-32 transport plane sits parked on the ramp outside their newly dedicated $22.3 million maintenance facility. The ANAAC recently received the plane from the Ukraine and is expected to expand their number of operational aircraft to 61 by 2011. The maintenance facility is a part of the Kabul international airport north cantonment, which the largest current construction project in Afghanistan. When it is complete, the Cantonment will accommodate 46 aircraft and almost 4,000 air corps' personnel. |
