Summary[edit]

Description
English: Pulteney Radial Gate Pulteney Radial Gate was constructed in 1972 as part of the Bath Flood Defence scheme. It’s original purpose was to automatically allow flows to pass through Bath when the river was high but retain a water level upstream when the flood flows had reduced.

It is situated to the south-east of Pulteney Bridge by the picturesque horseshoe-shaped weir. The role of the gate has been recently reviewed. This has shown that the gate is not required and could be removed and replaced with a fixed weir.

In the meantime, here it is.
