Plates depicting Louis XVIII's departure and Napoleon's arrival were etched by Couché fils (completed by Bovinet), from the author's sketch as drawn by Heim. Legends credit "Joubert éditeur."
Getty copy extra-illustrated with 50 prints of the period, many hand colored (2 double page, 1 folded). They include 8 ports. of Louis XVIII, and 14 of Napoleon (2 of them satirical). Twelve prints are from a series entitled "Troupes françaises" published at Paris by Martinet, some dated 1816; some are signed by Maleuvre or G. de Cari as etchers, and some bear MS annotations specifying military units
Binding: dark green straight-grain goatskin, gilt tooled with eagles, N's, bees and fleurs-de-lys. Edges gilt. Binder's ticket of C. Smith, Soho
