Description
English: This image depicts Cunard Line's RMS FRANCONIA during its first visit to Sydney berthed at West Circular Quay on 5 March 1927. The Australasian United Steam Navigation building is visible in the background as well as cranes being used to construct the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The vessel next to FRANCONIA is Shell Fuel Oil's TIGA. The Burns Philp wharf is also visible. Newspaper articles reported that the liner was carrying 400 tourists.
