These engines have cylinders 28 x 30 inches,the diameter of the driving wheels is 73/2 inches andthe weight on the driving wheels is 246,000 pounds. Aworking pressure of 210 pounds is used and the enginedevelops a tractive force of 57.510 pounds, and withbooster 67,660 pounds. The total weight of the engineand tender in working order is 610,300 pounds. There arc parts of the engine that are of unusual in-terest and merit, that testify to the great advancementthat has been made in the use of cast steel in modernlocomotive design.
