I always like to look down from ridges to see if I can spot wildlife. In this case, I was lucky and saw a pair of mountain goats (Oreamnos americanus). (They are to the left center of the photo... trust me). I wonder if goats and other grazing animals are the reason that many of these alpine meadows are relatively tree free.
