d in Gallipoli and Egypt. He afterwards wentto France, and was there killed in action on 16thAugust, 1917. Of the following who fell in action we haveno photograph :— Pte. Walter Burke. 23rd Manchester Regiment. Pte. Burke, Grey Making-up Room. Enlisted in theBantams on the 31st December, 1914, and waskilled in France. Pte. A. Baggoley. 4th Manchester Regiment. Pte. Baggoley, Packing Room. Enlisted on 17thAugust, 1914, in the 4th Manchester Regiment, andwas killed in France on the 6th July, 1915. Driver J. Parkington. Royal Field Artillery. Driver J. Parkington, Grey Room, was mobilised at theoutbreak of War with the Royal Field Artillery. He servedin France with the 210th Brigade Royal Field Artillery.Reported killed in action, but we are unable to get anydefinite information regarding him. Honours. INDEX. Dhootie Room. 2nd Lieut. J. 2nd Lieut. Jas. Heald, M.M Royal Garrison Artillery. 2nd Lieut. Jas. Heald, Dhootie Room. Enlisted inOctober, 1914, in the Royal Garrison Artillery, and waspromoted Sergeant in December, 1916. 22nd August, 1917 :— The Field Marshal Commanding-in-Chief has, underauthority granted by His Majesty the King, awarded thedecoration to the Non-Commissioned Officer shownbelow :— THE MILITARY MEDAL. 48443 Sergeant Heald, J., 234 Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery. For gallantry and devotion to duty in action. Gazetted 2nd Lieut., 12th April, 1919. C.S.M. Wm. Pollitt, M.M. 7th Manchester Regiment (T.F.). C.S.M. Wm. Pollitt, Dhootie Room, was mobilised withthe 7th (Territorial) Manchester Regiment at the out-break of the War, and saw service in France and Italy.He was awarded the Military Medal at Bullecourt forholding an advanced position successfully for six hours.
