WILLIAM RENNIE, TORONTO, CANADA. POTATOES NOTE.—Many people order small quantities, like a peck, to go by freight, thinking the charges will be less. This Is seldom the case, as the railroad com- panies make no rate for less than 100 lbs.; therefore the freight on a bushel is just as cheap as on a peck. QUICK CROP. As the name implies, is an early variety. It is a rapid, vigorous grower; vines strong and of a healthy dark green. Its cooking qualities are unsurpassed. When planted on good soil big returns can be expected, as it is an exception- ally heavy yielder. The tubers are oval to long in shape, and light rose in color. We especially recommend this variety to the market garden trade and to the home garden for first early- Lb. 25c, 3 lbs, 50c postpaid, peck 50c, bushel $1.60 by freight at purchaser's expense. EARLIEST SIX-WEEKS. The Editor of the Rural New Yorker, the great Ameri- can authority on Potatoes, calls this New Earliest Six- Weeks Potato the earliest of over 38 early varieties tested by him, and yielding at the rate of 464 bushels per acre. It is especially recommended for early market- ing, unsurpassed in quality by any potato in early stages of growth or unripe condition, cooking dry and mealy as soon as the tubers have attained a marketable size. Tubers flesh color, oval oblong, uniform in size and good keepers. Lb. 25c, 3 lbs. 50c postpaid, peck 50c, bushel $1.60 by freight at purchaser's expense. EARLY HARVEST. This extra early white potato is of American origin. It is wonderfully early. This feature, coupled with large yield, superb quality, and fine appearance, makes a most valuable sort for early marketing or home use. The tubers average large, are nearly white, with eyes only slightly indented: shape oval, flattened, sometimes long oval. This variety is growing in popularity, and we recom- mend it as the best early white. Lb. 25c, 3 lb. 50c postpaid, peck 50c, bushel $1.60 by freight at purchaser's expense. THE BOVEE. For an extra early this variety is one of the best; ajmost as early as the Ohio, and an exceedingly heavy yielder for an early potato. A vigorous grower, good keeper, and fine quality. In color it resembles the Hebron or Rose class. It grows to a good size, oval in shape. We consider it an excellent and promising variety. Our seed stock was procured direct from the originator. Grand keeper and a wonderful Cropper.—We have yet to find a potato which has given such general satisfaction, and is adapted to all sections of our Dominion, as this introduction of four years ago- Rose of the North." From all quarters we have received the most flattering testimonials. The tubers are even m size, averaging from 8 to 12 ounces apiece, and <»f a beautiful rose color, varying a shade lighter only when grown on new mulchy land. Under good cultivation as many as fourteen potatoes, all fit for market, have been produced from one single eye planted. In earll- ness, the Early Market proved a few days in advance but on July 1st, when Rose of the North were dog, the tubers of the latter were by far the largest, cleanest and best.
