Summary[edit]

Description

Long Island Rail Road signal electricians have been working around the clock in Garden City to build this signal case, which will replace one destroyed on March 29th when a New York and Atlantic freight car derailed and crushed a similar one in Wyandach. Crews are working to rebuild approximately 500 wire connections between 353 wires and 175 line cables. Crews are also undertaking the intricate and time-consuming electrical work needed to replace 75 major electrical components, including 28 vital relays, 15 surge/lightning protection units, 12 fuses, power supplies and transformers.
