It has been objected that the extension of the limitsof West Florida, by the British government, to the Ya-zoo River, was an infringement of colonial charters orgrants previously made, and that the titles to land madein that portion of the State were necessarily void.Spain, also, in wresting by conquest from Great Britainthe same territory, not truly belonging to her, acquiredno title thereto to the prejudice of the previous andrightful holders; the Spanish grants, therefore, to thesame extent, were equally invalid.
