Figure 324 represents a practical method of securing a largehog when only one assistant is available. A heavy rope witha loop on one end is placed over the head, neck and one leg (a) 282 RESTRAINT OF DOMESTIC ANIMALS. (b). The free end of tlie rope is thrown over a beam abovethe hog. Traction on this rope will raise fore feet of the hogoff the ground and place it in a helpless position.
