Description
English: River Nith viewed from Little Rigend Hill The overgrown foundations of Little Rigend or Waterhead Castle lie beneath the large tree on the south bank of the river. Close to this spot, Scottish Coal - operators of the House of Water opencast mine recently completed at the cost of £3m, the largest river diversion project in Europe which saw the River Nith diverted over a length of 3km.
