Summary
[edit]DescriptionRiver Thames at Goring Lock - geograph.org.uk - 509845.jpg |
English: River Thames at Goring Lock The bridge, although it looks as if it is made of wood, is in fact reinforced concrete. It was built in 1923 to replace an earlier wooden one of 1838. The bridge is actually one of two similar bridges which meet at an island in the Thames: this half is called Goring Bridge, the other one is Streatley Bridge.
Beyond the bridge, the lock can be seen, with its bottom gates open to let out a small cruiser. Further to the left is the weir. |
