| Description |
English: Riverdance on Anchorsholme Beach After being washed ashore during a storm on January the 31st 2008 it was announced on the 10th of April 2008 that all attempts to refloat Riverdance had been abandoned and that she was to be scrapped on site.
The contract to dismantle the vessel was awarded to Hancock's Contractors, of Heysham. The work is expected to take about twelve to fourteen weeks. One of the reasons for the decision was that Riverdance had suffered further structural damage and sank deeper into the sand during the storms on the 12th of March 2008. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Riverdance |
