Col. John R. Boulé, the commander of the New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and local officials including U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey and Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, cut the ribbon at a ceremony September 5, 2012 celebrating the completion of a streambank stabilization project in Westchester County, N.Y. The streambank erosion protection project was done in partnership with Westchester County and will help protect critical infrastructure along the Bronx River for years to come, like the Bronx River Parkway, the Central Avenue Bridge and local area utilities.
