English: Royal Canadian Navy Able Seaman Ryan Nicholson, Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Pinault-Lepage and Leading Seaman Emmie Penney remove and stow firefighting gear following emergency stations operations, similar to the U.S. Navy's general quarters drills, aboard the maritime coastal defense vessel HMCS Summerside (MM 711) during exercise Frontier Shield 2012 May 4, 2012, in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Frontier Sentinel is a combined U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Canadian Forces exercise focusing on mine countermeasures and migrant vessel scenarios off the east coast of the United States and Canada. The exercise is one of the field components of Ardent Sentry, a U.S. Northern Command exercise focusing on simulated weather, security and disaster contingencies. |
