Summary[edit]
DescriptionSea of Bikes 2, Bristol Temple Meads Station - geograph.org.uk - 984182.jpg |
English: Sea of Bikes 2, Bristol Temple Meads Station The bikes stretch into the distance! How do the owners find them? Looking towards the downline, we see the immense need for bikes in urban areas. Bristol is doing fairly well to accommodate them, but any cyclist will tell you that they take their life in their hands whenever they take to the road. Much, much more needs to be done to encourage more timid potential riders onto public highways. When they do, a tipping point will be reached and resources will flow in the "greener" direction. These bikes are a symptom of many things in our society and an omen for the future. Personal transport has to change from its present dependence on countless millions of internal combustion engines using fossil fuels with all their harmful consequences. |
