| Description |
English: Semaphore signals at Shrub Hill - 2 From platform 1 looking northwards with a London Midland standing on platform 2 opposite. These signals hanging from the roof halfway along the platform are disc signals. The signal is required here because the middle line sidings can be seen joining the main line just ahead. At one time the middle line was a through-line, but it is now used for storing local trains. Because there is no room for arm signals, the more compact disc variety is used, with a built-in white sighting board. The top one is larger so that there is no confusion with the roof girder work. |
