Summary

English: Shap Summit Memorial The memorial to truck drivers and others on the A6 summit just south of Shap. When you think back to pre motorway days of the 1950s, taking into consideration what the goods vehicles were like, the fact that the winters were harder and it is a long difficult climb out from Kendal, it must have been a very difficult trip to make in bad conditions. The memorial is a nice way of saying thanks. |
