This old road was once a through road from Tan Hill to Bowes, but has been abandoned above Sleightholme Farm. It is, however, still fit for cyclists and forms part of the W2W (Walney to Wear or Whitby) cycle route http://www.cyclingw2w.info/route.htm. |
