  • Petit frère: Tu as vu Zéa, il paraît que les GSM émettent une puissance de 2kWh !
  • Zéa: Attends... déjà, le kWh n'est pas une unité de puissance !
  • Petit frère: Mais c'est écrit dans le journal ! Ce sont des gens sérieux qui écrivent, non ? Des journalistes professionels ?
  • Zéa: Tu sais, le journaliste, quand il ne sait pas, il fait comme toi quand tu rends un devoir: il cherche quelqu'un qui lui dira, et s'il n'a pas le temps, il bâcle et il met n'importe quoi.
  • Zéa: Il y a tellement de gens qui bâclent leur travail, font des erreurs, déforment les choses, comprennent de travers, qu'il faut toujours avoir une partie de son esprit qui se demande si ce qu'on vient de lire est cohérent. C'est comme dans Wikipédia, si tu veux quelque chose d'important, il faut l'utiliser comme un pointeur vers d'autres sources.
  • Petit frère: Je vois... mais ça fait beaucoup de travail, ça ! Et puis j'ai douze ans, je ne sais pas si je peux déjà reconnaître quand c'est n'importe quoi...
  • TV: bla bla bla Wikipédia bla bla
  • Petit frère: Tiens, justement ils parlent de Wikipédia !
  • TV: ...et à cause de Wikipédia, chaque année, des milliers de thèses de doctorat sont refusées
  • Petit frère: Hein ? Mais il y a dans les 8 000 doctorats chaque année, ça ferait une proportion énorme ! Et comment il sait que ça serait à cause de Wikipédia ?

  • Zea: Well, the journalist, when he doesn't know, does like you when you're doing your homework: he'll seek someone to tell him, and if he's in a rush, he'll just botch the work and put in anything.
  • Zea: There are so many people botching their work, making mistakes, distorting things or misunderstanding, that you've got to always have half your brain checking whether what you've just read is coherant. It's just like Wikipedia, if you're looking for something important, you should use it as a pointer on other sources.
  • Little brother: I see... but that's lots of work! And I'm only twelve, I'm not sure I can tell what's right from what's rubbish...
  • TV: bla bla bla Wikipedia bla bla
  • Little brother: Hey, they're talking about Wikipedia
  • TV: ... and because of Wikipedia, every year, thousands of PhDs are failed
  • Little brother: What ? But every year, they deliver around 8 000 PhD degrees, that'd be a huge proportion! And how can he tell whether it's because of Wikipedia ?
