Summary

[edit]
Description
English: South Wales Caving Club HQ Most of the older established caving clubs have a hut or cottage in their area of activity. The South Wales Caving club has a row of ten ! Admittedly, old quarrymen's cottages are tiny compared with the derelict farmhouses taken over by many clubs, but SWCC's HQ leaves them room not only for the usual array of bunkrooms, cooking area, a shower, tackle store and a common room, but office space, library and other features too. They even have separate showers for each gender (although when I first started visiting SWCC these were very frequently both relabelled "mixed" whenever the cottage warden was not looking...) The only thing letting SWCC down is the approach road through a quarry in which it is easy to get lost in the dark when returning from the pub if you are not a regular visitor.
