| Description |
English: South east towards the northern end of former RAF West Raynham RAF West Raynham remained operational much later than the other WWII bases in north west Norfolk. Although it closed for flying in 1975, it was used to site Bloodhound missiles for air-to air defence until 1991 before finally closing in 1994. See http://www.raf.mod.uk/bombercommand/s32.html. Nowadays I guess that MOD Estates would be open to bidders for its redevelopment but, although security guarded and used agriculturally, nothing much else seems to be going on. |
