Summary
[edit]DescriptionSouthwold Railway Trackbed - geograph.org.uk - 1776526.jpg |
English: Southwold Railway Trackbed The trackbed of the narrow gauge line looking towards Blythburgh. This is the walkable section to Southwold.
The railway was narrow gauge at 3ft, running from Southwold to Halesworth (8.75 miles). After road competition and a run down of trade the board cut their losses and closed the line in 1929. Track was ripped up in the second world war. Little engines like this used to run on the line. http://www.southwoldmuseum.org/Transport%20popups/Japanese%20visit_popup.htm |
