Text Appearing Before Image:
Very fine decorative plant for the house, but per- haps even more valuable for urns and vases. The foliage is handsome, bright green, evenly striped and margined white. 10c. AMARYLLIS. The Amaryllis should find a place in every plant collection; it is easily handled and gives a wealth of bloom a greater part of the year. They delight in a rich sandy loam with plenty of moisture when grow- ing, but should be watered sparingly during their season of rest. Johnsonii. A strong growing sort with flower stalk two feet high, bearing 3 to 6 brilliant red flowers five inches in diameter, with a distinct white stripe in the center of each petal; very fragrant. 30c. Equestre. Bright salmon pink, with a distinct snow- white blotch at base of petals. 20c. Formossissima. (Jacobean Lily.) Crimson velvet color, flowering early in the summer. 15c. AGAPANTHUS UMBELLATUS. BLUE LILY OF THE NILE,
Text Appearing After Image:
If you have not a specimen of this gorgeous bulb- ous plant send for one, it is sure to please you. The foliage is always clear and bright. Flowers are bright blue, borne in clusters of twenty to thirty on spikes often three feet high, 15c. Extra strong by express, 25c. "CHENILLE PLANT" OR "COMET PLANT." ACALYPHA SANDERI. A decided novelty. One of the most easily grown; blooms when very small. Flowers in fluffy rope- like spikes, often 18 to 24 inches long, of a glowing crimson color. Foliage shining dark green; this with the overhanging red flower spikes, combine to make it a perfect ornamental plant. You are sure to be pleased with it. Strong, well-rooted plants, 20 cents each, 3 for 50 cents. (See third and fourth pages of cover).
