| Description |
English: St Anne's Church, Carlecotes, Dunford A secretive little church, not visible from the road. The porch on the other side is in the grounds of Carlecotes Hall, so one can deduce that it was built as a 'Chapel of Ease' by a wealthy owner of the house in the 19C or early 20C. It is in the ecclesiastical parish of Penistone and serves the people of civil parish of Dunford with a fortnightly service. Arthur Mee noted in his 'King's England' that its "rich woodwork includes eight canopied stalls". |
