| Description |
English: St Paul's Church, Hanging Heaton, near to Dewsbury, Kirklees, Great Britain.
One of the so called "million churches" built to celebrate the victory of the Duke of Wellington at the battle of Waterloo in 1815. The foundation stone was laid on August 7th 1823 and the building dedicated in 1825. Largely destroyed by fire in 1916, a rebuilding programme was completed in 1923 which included an additional 6 feet to the height of the structure. |
