Summary[edit]

Description
English: Stechford railway station, Birmingham
Opened in 1844 by the London & Birmingham Railway on the section of line from Coventry to Birmingham. View east towards Lea Hall and Coventry. As built, the station had staggered platforms with the Birmingham-bound platform in the same place as now but the original Coventry-bound platform was on the far side of where the road bridge now is, in the distance. In 1882, the eastbound platform was rebuilt in the current position and a station building erected above the tracks in front of the road bridge. It was replaced in the 1960s by a smaller booking office just out of view to the right. The footbridge, lifts and ramp to the booking office date from 2020 when access to the station was greatly improved.
